Single Vision

Single Vision lenses have the same focal power throughout the lens. Single vision lenses are used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, or a combination of these disorders. The vast majority of people who wear glasses before the age of 40 wear single vision lenses.

Remember all our frames come with free single vision lenses!

Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal lenses have 2 parts: the upper part used for distance vision and the lower (D shaped) part used for near vision tasks such as reading. Benjamin Franklin invented Bifocals so that he would only need 1 pair of glasses for both long distance and reading.

Bifocal lenses are available with all of our frames and prescription strengths and at just an extra £30 on top of the frame price they really are excellent value!

Varifocal Lenses

Varifocal lenses combine distance, intermediate and reading prescriptions. Varifocal lenses gradually change from top to bottom removing the line that is seen on a Bifocal lens. Varifocal Lenses are much more difficult to glaze than single vision or Bifocal lenses, precise measurements need to be taken.
